A story about kellan
Great blog.
I met Kellan at Barcamp NYC. Interesting discussions on feed parsing, was quite helpful in figuring out which direction to take my own feed parsing library.
I met Kellan at Foocamp, I believe Ada introduced us. I hitched a ride with him, as well as Rabble and Blaine of Odeo, back to SF, which was terribly kind of them. However, he failed to flatter or harass me sufficiently to start writing again, measuring only 4.3 on the Harrass-Yoz-ometer, and my hardy inertia requires 9.5 or greater. (Though that also usually involves a trip to the casualty ward.)
Nonetheless, he is completely fab, and I hope to meet him again soon. Until then, Laughingmeme is a great read.
After a year of near misses, we finally converged in meatspace at the “Web Innovators and Wankers” meetup in Boston.
Unfortunately noise level + rabid Sloan students made real conversation difficult, but we did do a bit of MST3K VC style.
Robby is nice enough not to make fun of me when I ask him stupid PlanetArgon/Rails questions.
Was at the Elysian Pub in Seattle. He was alarmingly smart and ominously quiet. ;-)
I met Yoz at Foocamp, I believe Ada introduced us. We gave him a lift back to SF, and apparently I failed to flatter or harass him sufficiently to start writing again. Alas.
We’ve been bumping into each other on mailing lists and such for the last year, and have friends in common, but still haven’t actually managed to occupy the same meatspace.
I actually met Chris once (FLOSS Usability 2), but I turned around and he had disappeared into a puff of smoke.
I wonder if perhaps he was just a holographic projection?
